I'm starting to learn how to cook Italian food. I am interest in knowing how to cook a quick pasta sauce.
Tomato or cream based??

Heres a Quick Tomato Based Pasta Suace takes about 5 minutes to prepare and is ready in less that 1/2 an hour.

Ingredients
1 can crushed tomatoes about 400g
1 Onion finely chopped
1 Crushed Garlic Clove
2 tsp tomatoe paste
4 tbs olive oil
2-3 Fresh Basil leaves

Heat the oil, add the onion and garlic and cook over low heat until the onion is translucent and soft. Add the Crushed Tomatoes and Tomatoe paste add 3/4 cup of water and bring to a simmer. Leave simmering for about 20 minutes add the fresh basil leaves abot 10 minutes into the simmering. Ststir to ensure it doesn't burn and continue simmering until it thickens. Add Salt and Black Pepper to your taste and for the adventurous add one hot chilli sliced.
