It was our turn to organize the annual block party this year. The responsibility of organizing is rotated from one home to next. We live across street from a lake and the 12 homes along the one mile stretch of the lake attend the party. I found some very good material about this topic at http://www.grocerycarriage.com. The host and hostess supply the food and beverages. So, this year we decided to offer finger foods. With finger foods we can prepare them early and can enjoy the block party day by visiting with out neighbors.
According to Greek mythology, the ancient gods of Mount Olympus, like Zeus and Athena, used to eat nectar and ambrosia to maintain their healthy looks and perform their rather unusual human-like activities. Although scholars have not yet concluded on what exactly ambrosia was for ancient Greeks, nectar in botany is a sugar-rich liquid produced by the flowers of plants in order to attract pollinating insects, like honeybees, essential for honey production. Nectar is produced in glands called nectaries, which are located at the base of the perianth, so as to allow pollinators perform their role and accessing the flower's reproductive structures, the anthers and pistil, while collecting the nectar the flower produces.

People today are very health conscious and eating sugar is avoided or kept to a minimum either due to health conditions like diabetes or, in some cases, from the simple desire to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Chocolates, on the other hand, are the favorite food item of many people and it is very likely you'll come across individuals where these two contradictory conditions are at loggerheads with each other. That is to say a person likes chocolates but cannot eat them due to the large amounts of sugar that go into the making of mainstream chocolates.

Chocolate is found in every store shelf around the world. It is most famous for candy bars and baking. There is something about chocolate that leaves you feeling satisfied and happy. That could be due to the ingredients that are found in chocolate; Theobromine and Phenethylamine. Theobromine affects the body in so many different ways; it can cause chocolate to becoming habit forming, can reduce a person’s sex drive, increase heart rate, dilates blood vessels, reduces blood pressure, and help loosen the muscles in the bronchus which may help during an asthma attack. This can cause several different affects on the body when it works alone. But then you have phenethylamine, which has an aromatic scent. Phenethylamine was known to cause a link in falling in love. That may be why we like it so much and always want more.
